Take Your Favourite Pokies Mobile with Android

Posted: 11 Jul 2016 04:32 AM PDT

Can you believe that Google released Android only eight years ago in 2008? Since releasing the Android OS, a ton of new smartphones and tablets have utilized the operating system and more people use the Android OS than the iOS.

I'm sure you're aware of mobile gambling by now. More people are gambling on mobile devices than on computers now and that trend will only continue, as more and more people move access the internet using mobile phones or tablets.

In this Android casino guide we're going to look at how to play your favourite games on the go.

Android supports flash and HTML5, which allows casinos to make incredible mobile games with little compatibility issues unlike Apple products. Over the years, we've seen a huge increase in the number of Android compatible casino games.

How to Play Android Casino Games

Google has never allowed real money casinos to offer apps through the Google Play Store. However, some big casinos still offer Android casino apps that you can download by installing the .apk file on your mobile phone or tablet.

If you want to install an Android casino app to your device, you first need to tick the box allowing you to install apps to your device from sources other than the Google Play Store, which you'll find under the "Settings>Security" tab.

Alternatively, gamblers can avoid downloading apps and simply play mobile casino games in your browser, including Google Chrome. The majority of casino players choose to play mobile games in their mobile browser.

Apps can take up a lot of space if the casino offers a lot of mobile games. You'll also need a connection to the internet if you want to play mobile games, either a WiFi connection or a data plan through your service provider.

Android Casino Games

Android pokies are the most popular mobile casino games and for good reason. Pokies are a great fit on smartphones or tablets. The screen size isn't an issue and the touch screen controls make playing Android pokies more engaging.

Some of the most popular Android pokies include Mega Moolah, Guns n' Roses, Mr. Vegas, Iron Man 2, Koi Princess, Drive: Mayhem Multiplayer, South Park, Pyramid Quest, Twin Spin, Stickers, Age of the Gods and Thor.

If you've ever played online slots, you've likely heard of Mega Moolah – the world's most popular progressive jackpot poker machine. The pokie is seeded with $1,000,000, so every winner becomes an instant millionaire.

More interested in table games? You can play popular table games for real money on your Android device, including blackjack, roulette, craps and baccarat. Most mobile casinos offer games that utilize random number generators (RNG).

Don't like RNG games? Live dealer casino games have been available on Android devices since 2012 and they have become much more technologically advanced. However, live dealer games are better suited on the PC.

Playing Real Money Android Casino Games

Android casinos offer the same experience as online casinos. You can register an account on your Android smartphone or tablet, access the cashier to make deposits/withdrawals and play many of the games available to PC users. Playing on your mobile device offers the same experience as traditional online casinos, albeit on a smaller screen.

Banking is simple and there are various options. You can use a credit/debit card, e-wallet, voucher or even your phone bill to make a deposit, depending upon the country you live in. Android casinos offers the same security and encryption as online casinos, so you can rest assured knowing that your money and personal information will be safe.

How To: Make Your Phone Work Overseas

Posted: 11 Jul 2016 01:58 AM PDT

Traveling with your smartphone is possible, but most of us don't know the first thing about how to do it. It requires monkeying with the SIM cards, contacting the manufacturer who made your phone, and more. With all that monkeying about, many people aren't willing to put in the time (especially when there's no 100% guarantee that your attempts will pay off). For these people, options like the NobelCom phone cards, available for nations from America to Ethiopia (and beyond) may be the best bet. Still, there are people who really want to be able to use their normal smartphone wherever in the world they happen to be. For these types of folks, here's how it is done.

First, you've got to unlock your phone. In most cases your phone isn't unlocked (able to be used with a different carrier) until you've paid it off completely. But you can make this request formally, and in many cases your cell phone manufacturer will just agree to do it. This request process is different with each manufacturer, so check around online to find out the best path ahead for you and your phone. If you manage to check this item off of your list (and in most cases, you will), you'll have achieved the most challenging aspect of unlocking your phone for international travel.

Next, you'll have to buy a foreign SIM card. Make sure to do your homework on fees and rates. The thing with the new SIM card is that it will give you a new phone number. You may be willing and able to share this with everyone you need to communicate with while you are overseas. But perhaps an easier way is to use a catch-all communication app that relies on data connection, not the infrastructure of a single carrier. This can allow you to unify your texts, Facebook messages, phone calls, and whatever else you do, to a single communication stream. That'll make things pretty easy when you are overseas.

Finally, you may consider contacting your provider and working out an international roaming plan. This is the best option for people who are traveling in and between many countries during a single trip. In those cases, you might have to buy a different SIM card for every country, and those costs can add up fast. While the international roaming option isn't going to be cheap, certainly, it will be the easiest and most convenient way to make your phone work like normal, no matter where in the world you happen to be standing.

In the future, we can all imagine that talking and texting will be easy, no matter where you are and no matter where the person you are talking to is. Today, it's almost possible to do this, but it requires some extra attention and asking around on your part. Because today's phone manufacturers and service providers want to keep your business (and because they definitely do have the infrastructure in place) they will more than likely be willing to make your plan happen.
