Chilean iGaming Industry: the mobile experience is taking over

Posted: 21 Apr 2020 09:30 PM PDT

It's no secret that the iGaming industry has taken over the world by storm. More and more countries are seeking to over a stellar online experience that comes close to that of a land-based casino. Bearing this in mind, we'll be talking about how the iGaming industry established itself in Chile, along with the mobile experience.

iGaming in Chile

Gambling has been part of the Chilean culture ever since the first forms existed in 1852. Since then, its popularity levels continued to soar higher and higher.

Back in 2005, the online casino scene in Chile started to make some waves and has since sought to become the leading gaming provider in South America. If we look at some figures, the Chilean iGaming industry managed to make more than $750 in revenue back in 2015, when online casino guides such as www.casinoonlinechile.info have popped up all over the Internet. Additionally, casino operators pay 20% tax rate, as opposed to Argentina, who only pay 16% in revenue. That said, the tourism industry in Chile managed to reap those benefits, as profits continued to grow over the years to come.

The country has a very strong land-based casino presence, with several casinos situated in various places around Chile, including Antofagasta, Arica, Chiloe Island, Santa Cruz, Santiago, Valparaiso and ViƱa del Mar.

That said, Chilean gambling laws are everchanging. Back in 2017, the Chilean Comptroller General released a new set of online gambling regulations that came into effect in the new year. Rather than the players, these rules mainly affected municipalities and online casino providers. These regulations came into full force after a study of unregulated gaming machines was conducted in Chile. The results showed a staggering 33,000 machines, that were operating without a license.

As a result, Chile is a long way away from legalizing online casinos. As of now, it is still illegal to operate online casinos anywhere in Chile. That said, Chilean players are free to sign up to any reputable casinos operating outside of the country.

 The Mobile Experience

As stated previously, players can still make the most out of their online gambling experience at licensed and regulated casinos outside of the country.

Nowadays, any reputable casino in the business is thinking about all markets. You'll find some players who still opt for a desktop experience, while others prefer mobile usage via a site or app. There has been a huge demand for the mobile market in the recent years. More and more players are seeking more options where they can enjoy their stellar experience.

Whilst some players may be wary of this, this couldn't be any further from the truth. All games are available, bonuses and promotions are applicable and most importantly, nothing is compromised. Ultimately, both desktop and mobile sites need to work seamlessly, so that players have different options to choose from.

What you have to keep in mind is to always check if the casino is licensed and regulated. Especially since you have to find online casinos that are located out of Chile, you definitely don't want to be signed up to a dodgy casino. If that happens, you're bound to experience anything from rigged games, slow payments or none at all. That said, there are some fantastic casinos that guarantee and a quality experience – you just need to be mindful, that's all.

Other than that, you can still play the same games. In actual fact, mobile games require a more powerful software since most desktop games online require flash. Any reputable casino will partner up with big names in the market, so rest assured that you will benefit from a quality experience.

Additionally, you can still avail from the same features listed on the desktop site. This includes all payment methods, registration buttons, and also essential features such as the 24/7 live chat option.
